R. Cohen (1997) Global Diasporas - An Introduction中介绍British diasporas里面对英国认同的一个简小精湛的概括
Like other diasporic communities, there are often exaggerations of home cultures as British-diasporas show an exaggerated mannerism and demonstrations of patriotism often made the British abroad more “British” than the British at home! The Britain to which the British diaspora looked has been dominated by English aspirations and signified by the monarchy, the gentlemen’s clubs, the benign feudalism of P.G. Wodehouse’s novels, the Sepctator and the Daily Telegraph (intellectuals), Punch and the Daily Mail, cricket at Lords, the regatta at Henley, lawn tennis at Wimbledon, preparatory and boarding schools.
Massey, Stuart Hall都有这类概括，而且非常注重把南英格兰的乡村风情归入
到英格兰认同的一部分。这里是以传统的方式把culture-place-identity三个元素
结合在一起。上述的Diaspora则拆解了这个三位一体。
