这张双CD专辑是钢琴家郎朗、吉娜·爱丽丝夫妇与尼尔森斯指挥的莱比锡布商大厦管弦乐团合作，演奏圣-桑、拉威尔、德彪西、福雷等的作品。整张专辑的核心是圣-桑为双钢琴和管弦乐队创作的“大型动物园幻想曲”、极富魔力的《动物狂欢节》，以及技巧出众的《第二钢琴协奏曲》。此外，还收录十多首钢琴独奏、四手联弹作品，其中既有来自拉威尔、福雷、德彪西的法国黄金时代的名曲，也有曾被忽视的法国女性作曲家的遗珠作品。
