Legend.
Last night, Diane Von Furstenberg, a legend of a fashion designer
opened her store in Plaza 66, Shanghai.
I have known Diane
for quite some time, mainly in the United States.
I do see
her occasionally in Europe. for example when we were both guests at
Valentino's 45 anniversary celebration in Rome this Summer.
I was very happy to see her in Shanghai again.
She was one
of the most
respected fashion icons in the world and I was happy that we
finally see her real clothes instead of knock offs here in China
She became famous for her wrap dress a long time ago.
Everyone in the world has worn one.
Through these years,
she has reinvented herself and
grew bigger and bigger.
Her stores in Hong Kong for example have been very
successful.
It is expected because her clothes are very
wearable...day to night, and night.
Diane's life is legendary too. Married to Prince Von Furstenberg,
she is thus a Princess.
She is now married to her long time
friend Barry Diller, one of the most important American business
men, who owns Home Shopping Network, Ticket Master,
Expedia.com. etc
etc...these are mammoth businesses!!!
If one can own one of
the many he has, he would be considered very successful, let alone
so many!!! I asked him if he ever failed. He said, yes, but very
little.
He said his success was due to the fact that did

Diane no long needs the money nor the prestige, but she loves to
work.

She enjoys being creative.
BY THE WAY, Diane Von Furstenberg who lives in New York will
receive the International Fashion Designer Legend Award at the
upcoming Dec 9, 2007 China Fashion Award.
She will come
back for this next week.
