对啦，就是这本书！目前它的收藏最高价是$10，200美金（按今天的兑换率算，约为￥63，852人民币）。啊，如果你手里有那么十本八本的，都够付个房子首期了吧？
什么？你家孩子也有那么一本？不会吧？这本是1963年的'首版书'，是美国作家、插画家Maurice Sendak的作品。如果你问，怎么他的书那么值钱？其实，不光是他的书，在国外的童书收藏市场，有好多种童书都有收藏价值（请见下面的统计表）。有收藏价值的图书，除了本身必备的文学性，可读性以外，关键在于“首版书”。
说到首版书，对刚入行的图书收藏爱好者来说，弄懂什么是“首版”很重要。图书收藏行业所说的“首版”和出版行业说的“首版”不是一个意思。很多出版商在版权页上标注的“首版”可能已经被翻印了八九刷了，但是因为没有再编辑，是原封不动的翻印，它也叫“首版”。而收藏家们所说的“首版书”则是第一次印刷的版本。这样的“首版书”才有收藏价值。
另外，如果“首版书”有作者签名，那就更有收藏和市场价值了。请看以下这本书：两本同样是首版书，上面这本没有作者签名，市值美金$150元（约￥939人民币），下面那本有作者签名，市值$290美元（约￥1815人民币），几乎是第一本两倍的价钱：
