Salaried employee也叫Salary employee，是指领固定薪水的员工，如bi-weekly or monthly paycheck（双周薪或者月薪）。这类员工通常指'white collar'，通常属于exempt employee（豁免员工），是没有overtime wages（加班费）的。Exempt employee 通常管理两个及两个以上的员工。但是，如果Exempt employee的薪水低于455美元/周（23600美元/年），则被认定为non-exempt employee（非豁免员工），如果其工作时间超出正常的工作时间，将受到Fair Labor Standards Act (美国劳工标准法案，FLSA)的保护，雇主需要付至少1.5倍的overtime wages（加班费）给该雇员。Salaried employee上班不是必须每天打卡，他们的薪水不会因为工作表现差被扣减。
