供应链管理策略（Supply Chain stratigies)，已经成为公司制定企业策略的重要组成部分。越来越多的公司将采用何种供应链模式，作为企业是否成功的重要因素之一。目前全球最普遍采用的是两种供应链策略：Lean Supply Chain和Agile Supply Chain。

Mangan et al. (2008) 在他们的著作《Gobal Logistics and Supply Chain Management》对上述两个概念进行了阐述：
Lean Supply Chain:（中文：精益供应链）“is concerned with eliminating waste in a pull based value stream of activities with level production (i.e. even production runs with neither idle time nor surges in demand) and just-in-time inventory management。”
精益供应链，顾名思义，就是以精益生产为中心，以成本降低、减少浪费为主要目标，追求最有效的投入产出比；
Agile Supply Chain（中文：敏捷供应链）“is desi

gned to cope with the volatility of demand。”
敏捷供应链，突出“快速反应和敏捷性”，以服务质量为第一，充分满足客户需求为主要目标。

两种供应链的特点

Lean Supply Chain：是基于“push”理念的生产系统，它采用有效的make-to-order，而非make-to-stock的生产模式，避免过度生产；同时使用just-in-time的库存管理以实现最小库存量，从而减少浪费。精益供应链的设计，力求在供应链的所有活动，如采购、生产、库存、仓储、运输等每一个过程中都实现产品或服务的价值增值；
Agile Supply Chain：是基于“pull”的设计理念，它以客户的需求为导向，致力于突出供应链系统的灵活性和解决客户需求的变化性，以实现在最短的时间内对市场的变化做出反应，并提供优质的服务。

两种供应链实施的原则

Lean Supply Chain：精益供应链的概念可追述到日本丰田汽车公司首创的生产系统理念，它是以其倡导的“精益生产”为基本原则，将“精益”的思路贯穿到供应链的每一个过程中；
Agile Supply Chain：敏捷供应链采用“postponement”的生产哲学理论，通过将产品划分base products（基础产品）和customised products（个性化产品），建立decoupling point来实现mass customisation（规模化定制）。

Lean Supply Chain：用于管理“基本需求”（预测驱动的方法），多建议使用于“需求比较稳定的功能性产品”——产品具有需求可预测性、较长的产品生命周期、产品单一和较长时间的交付周期；
Agile Supply Chain：用于管理“激增需求”（需求驱动的方法），多建议其使用于“需求难以预测的创新产品”——产品具有需求不可预测性、较短的产品生命周期、产品多样化和较长的交付周期。

两种供应链的综合使用

两种供应链，哪一种更具有优势？或是二者在同一个企业中可以统一使用？
Christopher et al （2006）建立了一个分类系统（如下图），对于如何选择全球供应链策略，提供了建议性的思路。此分类系统，是以产品的交付周期和需求预测性为考核标准。
