教材分析:
本节课所教授的内容是新课标人教版高中英语选修7第2单元Robots,这节课的主要内容是家用机器人Tony在女主人Clarie家被测试的过程,女主人慢慢的喜欢上了机器人的故事。通过本节课的学习,使学生掌握快读、跳读和精读等阅读技巧,能够有效提取信息,解决问题,同时培养学生对科学技术的爱好,培养学生的科技精神。


学情分析:参与这次课程实验的班级是高二六班学生,本班是高二年级文科重点班。文科学生,思维活跃,但很多女生都比较敏感,害羞,课堂参与热情不是特别高。但是大部分学生都喜欢阅读爱情小说,感情细腻,具有一定的自主学习与小组合作学习的能力。经过了过去一年多的学习,他们具备了基本的英语思考和表达力,初步具备了阅读简单的英语小说的能力。。因此需要教师引导他们不仅关注阅读课文本身,更要学会利用jigsaw阅读方法进行小组合作学习,此外还要关注小说情节的起伏及小说中人物情感的变化和内涵。

●The students will be able to practise jigsaw reading method in groups and share their opinions using some of the topic-related words and phrases.

Guide students to understand: How did Claire change her feelings to Tony?

过程与方法目标:培养学生学会独立阅读,推理分析,小组讨论以及逻辑整合能力。。为了填补老师设置的信息差(information gap),学生必须认真内化已有信息,把握文段之间的内在联系和逻辑,通过小组合作,做出合理猜测,在猜测与现实的碰撞中构建完整的语篇,从而加深对语篇的理解,提高阅读和表达能力。


Teaching procedures
Step 1 Leading-in
Play a vedio about an interview of the latest robot Sophia and ask each group to raise
Quesstions and answer the questions raised by other groups .The winner group will get one point.
Possible questions
1. How old is Sophia?
2. What is her job?
3. Does she like huam beings?Why?
4.How does she learn things?
5. Why does she think herself as a female?
6.What does she konw about Blade Runniner ?
7. How does the journalist thing about hanging out with a rpbot as Sophia?
8.Which country first give her the citizenship ?
9Will her kill human beings in the future ? When in her opinion?
活动形式:通过相互问答的竞答模式,激发学生兴趣,活动目的:
1. 通过视频导入阅读,激发学生阅读兴趣。
2. 训练学生听力与速记能力以及小组合作意识
Step 2 Pre-reading
Ask the students around you the follow questions:
1. Ask: Boy,Will you hang out with Sophia one day if possible?Why or why not?
Ask: As there are so many girls in our class,I want to know whether you can accept a robot as handsome as Li Yiiengfeng and can help your in many aspects to be your boyfriend in the future ?

2. Say: This period, we are going to read a story between a woman and a handsome robot.
Step 3 While-reading
1.Divide students into groups of four, named Home Group 1,2,3,4,…….Each member of the groups is numbered A,B,C, and D.
2. Ask students to read the materials on each learing task in groups according to the following instructions:
Student A of each group are asked to read the story on sheet1,
Student B of each group are asked to read the story on sheet2,
Student C of each group are asked to read the story on sheet3,
Student D of each group are asked to read the story on sheet4,
And then finish the following reading tasks on each sheet.
Task 1 (for two groups)
Larry Belmont worked for a company that made robots.Recently it had begun experimenting with a household robot.It was going to be tested out by Larrys wife,Claire.
Claire didn
t want the robot in her house,especially as her husband would be absent for three weeks,but Larry pe

told her he would not allow her to be harmed.It would be a bonus.However,when she first saw the robot,she felt alarmed.His name was Tony and he seemed more like a human than a machine.He was tall and handsome with smooth hair and a deep voice although his face never changed.

On the second morning Tony,wearing an apron,brought her breakfast and then asked her whether she needed help dressing.She felt embarrassed and quickly told him to go.It was disturbing and frightening that he looked so human.
One day,Claire mentioned that she didn
t think she was clever.Tony said that she must feel very unhappy to say that.Claire thought it was ridiculous to be offered sympathy by a robot.But she began to trust him.She told him how she was overweight and this made her feel unhappy.Also she felt her home wasnt elegant enough for someone like Larry who wanted to improve his social position.She wasnt like Gladys Claffern,one of the richest and most powerful women around.
As a favor Tony promised to help Claire make herself smarter and her home more elegant.So Claise borrowed a pile of books from the library for him to read,or rather,scan.She looked at his fingers with wonder as they turned each page and suddenly reached for his hand.She was amazed by his fingernails and the softness and warmth of his skin.How absurd,she thought.He was just a machine.
Tony gave Claire a new haircut and changed the makeup she wore.As he was not allowed to accompany her to the shops,he wrote out a list of items for her.Claire went into the city and bought curtains,cushions,a carpet and bedding.Then she went into a jeweler shop to buy a necklace.When the clerk at the counter was rude to her,she rang Tony up and told the clerk to speak to him.The clerk immediately changed his attitude.Claire thanked Tony,telling him that he was a
dear.As she turned around,there stood Gladys Claffern.How awful to be discovered by her,Claire thought.By the amused and surprised look on her face,Claire knew that Gladys thought she was having an affair.After all,she knew Claires husband name was Larry,not Tony.
When Claire got home,she wept with anger in her armchair.Gladys was everything Claire wanted to be.
You can be like her,Tony told her and suggested that she invite Gladys and her friends to the house the night before he was to leave and Larry was to return.By that time,Tony expected the house to be completely transformed. Tony worked steadily on the improvements.Claire tried to help once but was too clumsy.She fell off a ladder and even though Tony was in the next room,he managed to catch her in time.He held her firmly in his arms and she felt the warmth of his body.She screamed,pushed him away and ran to her room for the rest of the day.

The women were impressed by Claire,the house and the delicious cuisine.Just before they left,Claire heard Gladys whispering to another woman that she had never seen anyone so handsome as Tony.What a sweet victory to be envied by those women!She might not be as beautiful as them,but none of them had such a handsome lover.
Then she remembered Tony was just a machine.She shouted
Leave me alone and ran to her bed.She cried all night.The next morning a car drove up and took Tony away.
