Sample Answer:
In the lecture, the professor casts serious doubts on the article and maintains that none of the problems of communal online encyclopedias mentioned in the reading paragraphs are convincing. The professor presents several evidences as follows to illustrate her opinions.
The first point retorted by the professor is as to errors in communal online encyclopedias. She asserts that traditional encyclopedias have never been close to perfect accurate. If people want to find some online or offline encyclopedias without any mistakes, they are not going to find them. Additionally, online encyclopedias are easy to correct errors by users, while errors on traditional encyclopedias often remain incorrect for decades. In contrast, the author's viewpoint seems flawed.
Secondly, in terms of fabricating, deleting, and corrupting information in the encyclopedia, opposite to the reading material, the professor points out that people can actually put some crucial parts in t
he encyclopeida that nobody dispute the accuracy of them into read only format. This will further make these crucial parts be more reliable to users. Moreover, some special editors can be added to monitor any changes made in the communal online encyclopedias and eliminate those changes that are clearly malicious.
Finally, the professor believes that it is limit space that force people to decide what is important what is not. In actuality, the judgement of the academic group cannot reflect the great range of users' interests. Nonetheless, the space is not an issue for communal online encyclopedias. Thus, online encyclopedias are able to present much more topics and articles to cover a great diversity of users' interests, which is one of the strongest advantages of communal online encyclopedias.
In sum, the author's opinions toward three demerits of communal online encyclopedias are totally disproved by the professor.
