教材分析:本课时是8年级上册第六单元Section B 2a-2e的内容。引导学生通过主人公Sarah 了解country music 以及它的历史、代表人物等等。本篇阅读是第一次在教学要求中提出要求学生能够进行归纳总结,其后的七八两单元进行进一步练习,所以对这一能力的锻炼是在语篇教育目标基础上的重点。
学情分析:8年级的学生已经预备了一定的语言表达基础,并掌握了一定的阅读技巧,同时语篇中对于目标语言现在完成时涉及的并不多,所以在任务型教学活动中,只要老师设计合理,分层设置问题来引导学生进行分段复述,最后进行全篇总结,降低难度,学生还是有可能做到的。
教学过程:
一、 Warm up (Free talk)
Listen to three songs: (rock), (pop) (country music)
Have a simple introduction about these songs.
Q: Have you heard of it? Are you interested in it? Do you like it? What do you feel about it?
二、 Presentation
1.
Predicting
T: Today we are going to learn something about country music.
Now please look at your book page 46, read the title together.
T: What can you get from the title? (Can you guess what this passage is about? )
S:
T: The title is very important. We can get some information from predicting.
2. Fast reading
T: Look at the passage, how many paragraphs are there?
S: Three.
T: So first read the passage quickly, match each paragraph with its main idea.
S:
T: Check your answers with your partners, and talk about where you found the answers.
Check the answers together.
3. Careful reading (Paragraph 1)
T: So para 1 is about the girl, Sarah. Please read paragraph 1 carefully, and finish the task.
S:
Check answers together.
T: Can you tell something about Sarah.
(学师,学友不同挑战项目)
Check the work.
Read para one again, and check with your partners.
4. Careful reading (Paragraph 2)
T: Sarah changes because of a song. What kind of the song?
S: Country music.
T: Now let’s learn something about it. Please read Para 2 and find out T or F.
Check answers together. If it is false, talk about which part is false.
T: From it we know…
Besides country, there are some other kinds of music. What are the differences? Read para 2 again and fill in the chart.
Check your answers with your partners.
Then check the answers together.
T: These are some information about the country music. Can you introduce it to us? You can work solo or in pairs.
Check the summary.
5. Careful reading (paragraph 3)
T: Sarah likes country music. She has her favorite singer. Who is he? Please read para 3 carefully and fill in the blanks.
Check answers together.
T: Can you try to retell this paragraph. (学友:fill in the blanks, 学师: look at the key words )
Read paragraph 3 with your partners.
三、 Summary
T: This is the whole passage, let’s try to summarize it together.
Look at the questions and make a summary with your partners.
四、 Homework
1. Read the passage fluently.
2. Finish the practice.
