这篇课文是必修三第一单元,由于学生的英语基础较差,虽然之前的学习已经具备一定的学习方法,积累了一定量的词汇,但是学生在语言理解上会有一些障碍,故适用拼接式阅读训练模式,以促进合作学习,降低阅读的难度。除此以外,并不是所有的所有的文章都适合使用拼图式阅读法,只有分割段落后,意义比较明确的短文才适合进行拼图式阅读。这篇阅读材料由讨论四个不同节日的段落组成,比较适合拼图式阅读教学。 |

Teaching procedure: step Activity 1:Have a discussion among students. show a calendar and let students guess why some of the days are printed in red. Festivals are meant to celebrate important events. Different countries have different festivals. Work in groups and list three more festivals of China that you know. Discuss when they take place ,what they celebrate and what people do at that time. (通过对于节日的讨论,学生能够加深对中国传统文化的了解。) step 1.Prediction Ask students to look at the title and the subtitles. what do you guess the writer will tell us in the passage ?(培养学生的预测和概括能力) Look at the pictures. what are the pictures about? Good, people are celebrating festivals. please describe the pictures. (培养学生通过口头描述图片,能够运用英语来表达自己的想法的能力) 2.reading 1.Divide students into groups of four, named Home Group 1,2,3,4,…….Each member of the groups is numbered A,B,C, and D. 2. Ask students to read the materials in groups according to the following instructions: 1.) Student A of each group are asked to read Festivals of the dead, and finish the following reading tasks: Task 1: Find out the main idea of the paragraph. Task 2: Read and find out the words you don’t understand and the words you think are useful and important. Task 3: Read and find out the sentences you find difficult to understand. Task 4:Finish the following questions: What are festivals of the dead for? When do people celebrate the festivals?. Whatdo people usually do at different festivals? Compare the festivals of the dead in Mexico, Japan and China. What things are similar? What things are different? 2.) Student B are asked to read Festivals to Honour People and finish the following reading tasks: Task 1: Find out the main idea of the paragraph. Task 2:Read and find out the words you don’t understand and the words you think are useful and important. Task 3: Read and find out the sentences you find difficult to understand. Task 4:Answer the following questions: What are festivals of to honour people? When and where do people celebrate the festivals?. What do people usually do at different festivals? 3.) Student C are asked to read Harvest Festivals, and finish the following reading tasks: Task 1: Find out the main idea of the paragraph. Task 2: Read and find out the words you don’t understand and the words you think are useful and important. Task 3: Read and find out the sentences you find difficult to understand. Task 4:Answer the following questions: What are harvest festivals? When and where do people celebrate the festivals?. What do people usually do at different festivals? 4.) Student D are asked to read Spring Festivals, and finish the following reading tasks: Task 1: Find out the main idea of the paragraph. Task 2: Read and find out the words you don’t understand and the words you think are useful and important. Task 3: Read and find out the sentences you find difficult to understand. Task 4:Answer the following questions: What are harvest festivals? When and where do people celebrate the festivals?. What do people usually do at different festivals? 活动形式:组内个体活动 活动目的:培养学生独立思考能力和发现问题及解决问题的能力 3. Then have the students who read the same story form an Expert group, and discuss the reading material and tasks with one another. Thus, they help and teach each other to study their reading material and finish their reading tasks. 活动形式:小组活动 活动目的:互帮互学,发挥各自所长 4. After discussing in Expert groups, all the members come back to their former Home Groups and teach the other groups what they have learned and discussed in the Expert Groups. 活动形式:小组生生之间活动 活动目的:培养学生学习的主动性和责任感 培养学生的主体意识和合作意识 5. After all the students finish studying the four festivals, ask the whole class to finish the following tasks and check whether all the students understand and learn all the festivals.
活动目的:检查“拼图式阅读法”的学习效果 Step 4 Discussion Discuss in pairs which festivals you think are the most important and which are the most fun.
