北师大王蔷教授在对英语学科核心素养进行解读时指出,在教学活动中,让学生拥有自主性,能够学会自主学习。在过程中认识和发展自我价值,在交流过程中让学生学会交往与相处,共同解决问题。
教学背景分析
Analysis of the the Teaching Material
The story talks about the monkeys and the crocodile. According to the story,the monkeys want to eat the peaches on the trees across the river, but they can't swim.A crocodile wants to help them, yet he doesn't really want to help them.The clever Mother monkey refuses the crocodile.
Analysis of the Students:
Students of Grade 4 have learned English for 2 years. There are few new words in the story. Thus, it is not very difficult for students to understand the story and express their ideas.
Additionally, it is a good way to learn English by reading stories. Students are interested in the story and they will be active in class.
However, students may have some difficulties in presenting the story. Thus, it is necessary for the teacher to spend more time on guidance and encouragement .
Teaching Aims:

Learn the new word crocodile.
Learn to understand the story by completing the tasks.

Practice the strategy of reading.
Cooperate with partners to imitate .
