因为学校离菲尔德博物馆不远，里面的展品又很丰富，多次去参观。其中来自中国、非洲的文物极多。
芝加哥菲尔德博物馆建于1893年，原名哥伦比亚博物馆，主要是为了保存哥伦比亚世界博览会的生物和人类学展品。博物馆网站介绍：The Field Museum was primarily an outgrowth of the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893. The first published suggestion that a museum should be formed as a result of the exposition was, in the opinion of Frederick J.V. Skiff, first Director of the Museum, an article by Professor F.W. Putnam in the Chicago Tribune of May 31, 1890. In that year and the following one Putnam also addressed local bodies on this subject and his views were duly reported in the newspapers.
