On 10 May 1995 David was born. We lived in the hostel and it is safe to say that he grew up not being scared of 'strangers'. When Amber came along on 11 July 1997 we bought the house across the road and we moved out of the hostel.
1995年5月10日戴维出生了。我们那时依然住在客栈里，可以确定地说，他在长大的过程中没有被“陌生人”吓到过。接下来在1997年7月11日，安布尔出生了，那时我们买下了马路对面的房子，从此，我们搬出了客栈。

Hostel life is full of celebrations. Guests from Israel prepare for Hanukkah. Wei-Yang Lee, Ching-Shan Lien and Pei-Shing Lin from Taiwan stayed with us in April 1995. They came back with their families in 1996.
Saul from Israel helped us for a while - David loved him.
客栈生活充满了庆祝。以色列来的客人们在为光明节（犹太教的节日）做准备。李维扬，连庆山，林培兴（均为音译）1995年4月从台湾过来。1996年，他们又和全家人一起过来。

We could never have kept the hostel going without the help of many travellers. Sarah from the UK was one of them. She helped Wilma in the hostel when Michael Kodiak, Alaska for a month of fishing. One Saturday afternoon, after all the beds were made, she went to the pub to watch the rugby and met a young kiwi-farmer, dubiously named Frog. She married him and they now have two beautiful children. Allanah and Ethan. Sadly Frog died in January 2012 in a tragic accident.

A Swiss couple married away from 'home' to have a quiet wedding - but they made so many friends on their travels that a big party could not be avoided.

Two couples, Susanne and Hendrik and Gabi and Oliver(photo taken in Kaikoura) got married on the same day in 1998. They had stayed in the hostel before and decided that Lake Tekapo is the best place for such an important day.

Jan from Friesland helped Michael with the garden paths. He always kept a close ear to the ground.

This white water kayaking course was opened in 1998. The Tekapo dam is opened especially three or four times a year to run this course.
