【词源解说】
14世纪早期进入英语，直接源自古法语的rendre，意为回馈，产出；最初源自拉丁语的reddere:re(回）+dere(给），意为给回。
下面这个例句：
The piano solo was well rendered.
翻译为：那支钢琴独奏曲弹得真好。其实这里的render指的是“呈现”的意思。
有时候翻译为“粉刷”，其实指的是再刷上一层的意思，再给一层的意思。有的语境下可以译为“翻译”，最初指的是向主人转译下人的语言。依然是“给回”的意思。
