Break, Break, Break, 渤泙声声

Break, break, break, 渤泙声声似哭泣,
On thy cold gray stones, O sea! 澥波漰注冲苍礐！
And I would that my tongue could utter
口张舌举述衷肠，
The thoughts that arise in me. 思绪如潮万千阕。

O, well for the fisherman's boy, 渔家男童今何在，
That he shouts with his sister at play! 昔日呼妹嬉海潮！
O, well for the sailor lad, 船家水手何处觅，
That he sings in his boat on the bay! 歌声悠扬海湾飘！

And the stately ships go on 江船肃穆归纷纷，
To their haven under the hill; 夜泊山村凹口渡。
But O for the touch of a vanished hand, 但愿重执子之手，
And the sound of a voice that is still! 不闻君声在何处!

Break, break, break, 渤泙声声似哭泣，
At the foot of thy crags, O sea! 苍岩脚下作坟地！
But the tender grace of a day that is dead 柔情岁月渐行远，
Will never come back to me. 盼君归来竟成忆。
【诗人简介】：
丁尼生(1809-1892)，维多利亚时期代表诗人，主要作品有诗集《悼念集》、独白诗剧《莫德》、长诗《国王叙事诗》等。
【原诗简析】：
此诗是诗人悼念好友阿瑟.海拉姆（Arthur Hallam）而作。诗分四节，每节工整，偶行押韵，除第三、四节第三行是四音步外，其余均为三音步。格律抑抑扬格和抑扬格相结合。其中所述情感不亚于我国古代诗人元稹的《遣悲怀》。译诗按遣悲怀风格而译。原诗格律每节abcb，译诗格律也采用abcb。
【注释】：
原诗题目：“Break，Break，Break”，具有多层含义，其一，表示象声词，模拟大海波涛撞击海岸的声音；其二，大海波涛吞没了诗人好友；其三，表示诗人因好友坠水而亡，心痛如碎裂。译诗译其声，补出隐含之意。此译诗发表于译者拙译《春秋大义--中华文明之精神》。
