与其他行业中不同，在航海业中，无论是造船工人还是驾船远航的海员，他们都把船舶视为有生命特征的物体。既然被定义为生命体，船舶肯定是有性别和灵性的。

The reasons a ship is called a “She”: There is always a great deal of bustle about her, there is usually a gang of men around her. She has waists and stays. 称船舶为“她”的原因是：她总是处于忙忙碌碌之中；经常有一帮子男人围绕在她的身边。她打扮得非常优雅、漂亮。她展示了她傲人的优美、玲珑的曲线和身姿，连她的臀部都富有性感的吸引力，很耐看。当她远航归来进入港口时总是对着浮筒航行。
