迪庆——美丽的香格里拉
Dingqing:Beautiful Shangri-La
迪庆藏族自治州位于滇()西北，云南、西藏、四川三省交界处，迪庆，藏语意为吉祥如意的地方，以藏族为主体的8个兄弟民族世代生息繁衍在这片广袤的土地上。这儿就是传说中美丽的香格里拉。
Lying in the Northwest of Yunnan Province, the Diqing Zang (Tibetan)Autonmous Prefecture(地方官的任期，辖区) is a place where three provinces meet---Yunnan, Xizang(Tibe)and Sichuan.'Diqing'means 'good'fortune as one wishes for' in the Tibetan language. There are eight ethnic minorities(少数民族) who have lived on this vast expanse of land generation of generation. Among them the Zang nationality(民族) accounts for the majority of the population. This is wh
ere the legendary Shangri-La is located.
这里不仅民族风情浓郁，同时还是一片具有生命灵气的宝地，草原广阔，山水环绕。
The Prefecture is rich with the local colors（特色 ） of ethnic minorities and scenic landscape. Here one can see vast expanses(广阔的地区) of grassland and lofty mountains with rivers and streams running through this area.
梅里雪山主峰卡格博，屹立于迪庆西北，海拔6740米，是迪庆的最高点，也是云南第一峰，终年雪冠冰氅，云缠雾罩。
The snow-capped and mist-shrouded Kagebo Peak--the dominant peak in Meili Mountain range in the northwest of Diqing--stands aloft 6740 meters above sea level, the highest peak in Diqing and in Yunnan Province as well.
长江巨龙用身体在这片土地切出了一条世界最深的峡谷--虎跳峡；
The Yongtze River, like a dragon cutting the mountian into two with its body, runs through this area in the great Gorge named the 'Leaping Tiger'--the deepest gorge in the world.
那暴跳的激流没有一丝绿色，惟有生命的呼吸在沉重的隆隆声中诉说着什么。
Not a trace of green can be seen in its violent torrents, but the heavy rumble can be distinctly heard--the sound of life telling one its stories.
在与虎跳峡一山之隔的地方，一湾清澈的湖水从山谷流泻而下，水中矿物质的长年
沉积形成了一片200多平方米的地质奇观，当地人们称它“白水台。”
Separated by a mountain from the Leaping Tiger Gorge, the water from a crystal-clear lake rushes down a valley, the mineral deposits in the water forming a series of terrances of 200 square meters--a geological wonder called the 'Winter Water Terrace' by the local people.
近年来，随着旅游业的发展，迪庆也开始吸引大批游客，游人对这里的多民族文化及美丽的景色深感兴趣。
With the development of tourism in recent years, Diqing has begun to attract large numbers of tourists, who are especially interested in its multi-nationality cultures and unique natural beauty.
