（颜渊篇12.18）


季康子患盗，问于孔子。孔子对曰：“苟子之不欲，虽赏之不窃。”
【今译】
季康子担忧盗窃，问孔子怎么办。孔子回答说：“假如你自己不贪图财利，即使奖励偷窃，也没有人偷盗。”
【英译】
Chi K'ang, distressed about the number of thieves in the state, inquired of Co
nfucius how to do away with them. Confucius said, 'If you, sir, were not covetous, although you should reward them to do it, they would not steal.'
