Stop saying '
Maybe later'
What the drawing vividly depicts is that
(这幅漫画生动地描述了...)facing a pile of
paperwork(文书工作) to be
finished, she
si
ghed with regret(后悔地叹着气) and said 'Maybe I should have
started sooner. '. This picture illustrates that
(这幅漫画说明) some people are troubled by(受到...
procrastination, the avoidance of doing a task which needs
to be accomplished , and as a result(因此) when the
deadline for(...的最后期限)the task comes they
can do nothing but (只能 ) regret and
feel sorry for themselves.
Phychologically speaking(从心理学上说), procrastination may occur
when our brains sense some potential difficulties that they don't
want to do, we subconsciously (潜意识地)shift
our attention to (把注意力转移到...上)something easier and more
pleasant. Procrastination is damaging and will spoil
your life and your future. It may prevent you from passing an
examination that matters(重要) to you. When
procrastination happens to you, even if you know you should
get prepared for the test, but you keep putting off the preparation
and are occupied with (忙于...)
trifles(琐事) such as surfing the net
and shopping online(网上购物) until it is too late
for you. You may have thought ofworking out(锻炼) every day in
the gym to lose weight, but you think you are tired after work so
you rest in your workdays (在工作日)and just go to
the gym on weekends(在周末). Then your weight may stay unchanged.
How can you get ride of (摆脱)
procrastination if you are troubled by it? You can
divide a big task into small ones to be finished gradually so that
you will feel more certain that you can accomplish it. Making a
strict plan and sticking to (坚持)it will be
helpful to (对...有益的)you, too. Nothing is
impossible. As long as you make up your mind
(下定决心)to get away from
(远离)procrastination, you are sure to make
1. Maybe some other time.
2. Maybe tomorrow.
3. Maybe later.
4. Let's do it another time.
