To paint a typical picture of a freshman, we may look at a
remarkable aspect — the way they appear. On campus, if we see a
student with conservative hair style, simple clothes, and a
frequent “May I come in?” (报告), walking noisily while talking
shyly, we would assume that he or she might be a freshman
Now we turn to another aspect — the way they study.
A freshman is used to listening to the teacher attentively, taking
notes carefully and trying hard to remember the material he or she
has learnt.
A freshman often assumes that he or she
should observe discipline and carry out every order from above, and
is afraid of giving teachers a bad impression. “Is it proper?” or
“Can I?” are the words teachers often hear from a freshman.
For a freshman, if one thing goes wrong,
the day is ruined. A freshman is busy saying “hello”.
To sum up, a freshman is innocent and
obedient, and he or she feels fresh and fanciful.
