执笔开始的手势
悬腕法
执笔法 中国绘画执笔同于书法，虽然各人喜好不同，执法也无定式，但初学必须要掌握基本要领。拿毛笔时用大指、食指把住笔杆，呈“龙眼”或“凤眼”状，（见图1、2、3、）中指紧随食指把住笔杆。执住笔后，一般笔杆不超过食指的第一指节。指实、掌虚、腕平、五指齐力，运转收放要自然。书法执笔较严谨，绘画执笔较灵活，可直掌可横卧，（见图4、5）执笔可略高一些，笔锋转动才能灵活，腕、肘、肩、身互相配合，动转方能得力。
执笔起初一定要标准，从有法到无法的过程。苏东坡说：“执笔无定法，要使虚与宽。”他的意思是，执笔采用哪种方法并不重要，只要适合自己的生理条件，怎么执笔都行。关键是执笔的掌心一定宽阔、豁亮，掌心宽阔豁亮了，才能行笔无阻，挥写自如。

How to handle the brush
Handle the brush in Chinese painting
is the same
with calligraphy, although there is no certain formulary in handle
the brush, and moreover, each one has their own favor, the basic
point should be mastered at the beginning of learning. First using
thumb and forefinger to hold the stick of the brush, shaping in
circular like dragon’s eyes, (see pictures 1、2、3、 )the middle
finger closely followed with forefinger. As holding the brush,
usually the stick is lower the first knuckle of the forefinger. The
fingers should be solid、the hand should be an empty inside、the
wrist should be smooth and the five fingers should force together,
and relax when moving the brush, holding the brush in calligraphy
is preciseness
compare with painting which can be higher on
holding the stick of brush and also allowed to be lower towards the
tip of the brush，(see picture 4、5 )such skill can make the brush
more easily in running and meanwhile the wrist、the elbow、the
shoulder and the body, all of them should be cooperated in harmony
in order to acquire the proper strength in writing.
The standard of handling the brush should be mastered at the
beginning, the process of going from having standard to out of
standard according to the way which whom used to be. Like Sudongpo,
the famous Chinese ancient poet, said: “No fixed standard in
handling the brush, it all depends on loosening and tightening”,
that means the important thing is not the way you choose in
handling the brush, as long as you find the way suitable for your.
The key is to make you palm having receptivity and lightness, then,
you can use the brush smoothly.
