英语实用过渡词（组）精选

在使用英语的过程中，无论是进行口头交际还是书面表达，正确地使用过渡词（Transition Words and Phrases）可以起到承上启下的作用，让语篇表意清晰，连接顺畅。中学生熟练地掌握一些常用的过渡词是非常有必要的，对于高考英语作文尤为重要。
英语中具有“过渡”功能的单词、词组和句式不在少数，下文的过渡词（组）列表基于“不求多而全，只求方便实用”的宗旨，按其功能分类，以字母顺序先横后纵排列，突出语篇中句子之间、段落之间、观点之间的过渡连接，舍弃了像not only…but also, as well as, in spite of等偏重于单句表达的词汇或短语。

1、表示递进或补充信息（To indicate more information）
As a matter of fact Besides
Furthermore In addition
Indeed In fact
In the same way Moreover
On the other hand… On the contrary
Second...Third..., etc. To tell the truth
What’s more… What’s worse…

2、用于转换话题（To indicate the intention of changing topics）
By the way However
In other words Nevertheless

3、用于举例说明（To indicate an example）
For example For instance
In particular Particularly
Specifically Such as
To demonstrate To illustrate

4、表示原因或理由（To indicate a cause or reason）

5、表示结果或影响（To indicate a result or an effect）

6、表示目的或原委（To indicate a purpose or reason why）

7、用于比较与对比（To compare or contrast）

编者后记：
在着手编撰“英语过渡词”这篇帖子之前，我原本只打算把过去从网上收集的一份文档挂上博客，供英语教师平时教学参考选用，后来一时“好事”，访问了一些包括TEFL教学资源的英美网站，发现老外对过渡词（Transition/Transitional Words and Phrases）的理解颇有不同，跟中国教师相比，他们在功能项目和词条的多寡等方面都“望尘莫及”，功能项目的分类标签也存在一些差异。经过一番比对，发觉外教更多地强调过渡词在语篇上的应用，而中国教师则不乏“多多益善”的想法。权衡之下，做了一些增删，于是产生了这个“混血儿”版本的英语过渡词。
事实上，过渡词的是非归属并没有完全统一的划分标准，在教学过程中让学生识记一些过渡词固然重要，但更为重要的是培养学生使用过渡词的意识。
