= I’d like to stay at home，
but Max would rather play football on Sundays.
注意点： prefer to do sth
不仅有人称变换,第三人称形式是prefers to do sth,
而且还有时态变化, 过去时态为preferred to do sth。
would rather既无人称变化,也无时态变化。
3. prefer A to B/prefer doing A t
o doing B 宁愿……而不愿……
I prefer writing a term paper to taking an
examination. 我宁愿写一篇学术论文也不愿参加考试。
4. prefer + that-clause (虚拟语气)+(should)
+do 喜欢做某事
Would you prefer that I（should）come
on Monday instead of on Tuesday? 你宁愿让我星期一来而不是星期二来吗？
5. prefer to do sth rather than do sth=prefer (doing) sth to
(doing) sth =would rather do sth than do sth 即prefer A
to B,
“比起B来更喜欢A”，“宁愿做A而不愿做B”。
prefer…rather
than…后面接动词时，在prefer后接带to的不定式，在rather
than后接动词原形。
All students prefer to take the bus rather than
walk.
= All students prefer taking the bus to walking.
=All students would rather take the bus than
walk.
prefer to do A rather than do B
宁愿做A而不愿做B
He preferred to die rather than become a traitor.
他宁死也不做叛徒。
6. 也可在prefer…rather than…后分别接名词。
I think I should prefer fish rather than
meat.我想我还是要鱼，不要肉。
prefer to do (rather than do)
意为“宁可；宁愿（表选择）”或者“更喜欢做某事”。其本身带有like
better的含义，所以不能再与表示程度的better或more连用。
