想写一篇以《空心人》为题的感想，没想到一搜搜到了艾略特的《空心人》。但愿还有《空心人》的歌曲。
诗歌《空心人》是
托马斯·艾略特在1925年创作的作品。
《空心人》（1925）集中表现了西方人面对现代文明濒临崩溃、希望颇为渺茫的困境，以及精神极为空虚的生存状态。《空心人》中绝望的情绪十分明显：人是空心人，头脑里塞满了稻草，人的声音“完全没有意义，像风吹在干草上”，而整个世界将在“嘘”的一声中结束。空心人是失去灵魂的现代人的象征。
托马斯·艾略特是英国20世纪影响最大的诗人。他出生于美国密苏里州圣路易斯。祖父是牧师，曾任
大学校长。父亲经商，母亲是诗人，写过宗教诗歌。艾略特曾在哈佛大学学习哲学和比较文学，接触过梵文和东方文化，对黑格尔派的哲学家颇感兴趣，也曾受法国象征主义文学的影响。1914年，艾略特结识了美国诗人
庞德。第一次世界大战爆发后，他来到英国，并定居伦敦，先后做过教师和银行职员等。1922年创办文学评论季刊《标准》，任主编至1939年。1927年加入英国籍。艾略特认为自己在政治上是保皇党，宗教上是英国天主教徒，文学上是古典主义者。

①，库尔兹：康拉德小说《黑暗的心脏》的主人公。该句是小说中的一句引文。
②，盖伊：指英国国会爆炸案的主角盖伊。福克斯。每年十一月五日（盖伊·福克斯节），英国儿童都要烧毁一个盖·福斯的模拟像，他于1605年曾打算炸毁议会大厦。在烧像之前，儿童们扛着像，说着“给老盖一个便士，以讨钱置花炮”。这里指英国的盖伊。福克斯节。
③，破颚骨：broken jaw，双关词，也指连绵起伏的峡谷隘口。
④，霸王树：一种仙人掌科植物，果实似梨
