我的寂寞是一条长蛇， My loneliness is a long snake,
冰冷地没有言语── Cold, and silent--
姑娘，你万一梦到它时 Should you dream of it, my dear lady
千万啊，莫要悚惧！
br> May you not be frightened!
它是我忠诚的侣伴， It is a loyal friend of mine
心里害着热烈的乡思； Who bears longings of the hottest sort
它在想那茂密的草原，── For the lush prairie in his home land--
你头上的，浓郁的乌丝。 The thick, black tresses of yours.
它月光一般轻轻地， Light and quiet, like the moonlight,
从你那儿潜潜走过； It sneaks into your sleeping hour,
为我把你的梦境衔了来， And steals for me a dream of yours--
像一只绯红的花朵！ What a crimson flower！
