高中英语单词构词方式——缩略法（Abbreviation/Shorting）
　缩略法：指通过省略或简化单词的音节而构成新词的方法。
包括：长词截短法( Clipping)，首字母缩略法( Initialism)，
首字母拼音法(Acronym)，混成法(Blending)。
长词截短法：
telephone→phone
mathematics →maths
influenza→flu

首字母缩略法：
the United Nations→UN
World Trade Organization→WTO

首字母拼音法：将缩写的首字母拼成一个单词：
NATO: the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
Laser: light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation

混成法：各成分都失去部分音节而组合成的新词，例如：
motel ←motor +hotel； brunch ← breakfast + lunch
smog← smoke+fog； telecast←television+broadcast
以上是高中英语单词的第四种构词方式。
