关于合同中“Save as”的翻译
转自http://jojoatgao.blogbus.com/logs/7495777.html在普通英语中，“save”是一个司空见惯、人人熟悉的及物动词。在法律英语中，“save”是一个与“except (for)”相同的介词。从词源上说“save”是一个法语词汇。在历史上，法国人曾经统治英国很长时间，许多法语词汇因此堂而皇之地进入了法律英语。“save”便是其中最典型的、如今仍然保留使用的一个。汉语译文一般译为“除……外”。不管是“save”还是“except (for)”之后都可以跟一个名词短语，也可以跟一个从句或另一个介词短语。
例如：
“Save as is provided in this Ordinance, no claim within the jurisdiction of the Board shall be actionable in any court.”

除非本条例另有规定，否则凡属仲裁处司法管辖权范围内的申索，不得在任何法庭进行诉讼。
在中国大陆，由于法律翻译人员通常都不太熟悉“save”一词的用法，因此在法律译文中很少使用该词。当然在普通英语中，习语“except”或是“except for”是更常见的表达方式。
