A Fine Day At Lin An After A Long Rain
By Luyou /Tr. By Lily
Human nature is
as fickle as mist all the way
Who makes me ride to the bustling capital for
stay?
Last night at the inn I heard of spring rain gay
Tomorrow apricot blossoms are sold in deep
laneway
On short paper I obliquely write in cursive way
By sunny window I watch on the tea the foams
play
I won’t tainted by the dust dressed in clothes
gray
And I should return home before Tomb Sweeping
Day
版二 (隔行韵)
Human nature is as fickle as mist all my way
here
Who makes me ride to the bustling capital for
stay?
Last night at the inn I heard of the spring rain
Tomorrow apricot blossoms will be sold in deep
laneway
On short paper I'm obliquely writing in cursive
hand
And by sunny window watching on the tea the foams
play
Dressed in plain clothes I won’t tainted
by the dust
And I should return home before the Tomb Sweeping
Day
自娱自乐佳译
At Lin An After A Vernal Rain
Rapport betwixt people is now like gauze so
thin,
Why should I ride into th' capital and stay in?
I hark the vernal rain a-pattering all night;
Some'll hawk apricot blooms morrow in th’ lane by th’
inn.
Upon the short paper I write in cursive style;
Against the clear window I watch th’ boiling tea
spin.
No need to sigh the dust here will taint my clean
robe,
As on the Qingming Day I’d be home with my kin.
赵彦春佳译
At Lin An After A Rain
The worldliness is like gauze thin and light;
Why should I ride in this capital vain?
In the inn I listen to the rain all night;
Who'll sell apricot blooms morrow in th' lane?
On the thin paper I write lines awry,
While against the window the tea I taste.
Over the dust on my white coat I sigh;
I may get home for Bright Day if I haste.
