How miserable and pathetic my mien
When a cold snap hits spring green
It’s hard for me to rest so keen
三杯两盏淡酒，怎敌他、晚来风急？
雁过也，正伤心，却是旧时相识。
To drink a few cups of light wine I try
How could they let a strong night wind die?
I feel so sad when wild geese are flying by
Since they’re my old friends in the past sky
满地黄花堆积。憔悴损，如今有谁堪摘？
守着窗儿，独自怎生得黑？
Faded flowers fall on the ground
Heaps of their ruins easily found
Who could pick them up all around?
Sitting alone by the window as bound
How could I greet night coming round?
梧桐更兼细雨，到黄昏、点点滴滴。
这次第，怎一个愁字了得。
On phoenix leaves the drizzles fall
Drop by drop till dusk don’t stop at all
Thus, how could a word of ‘sad’ call
Off the grievous fate that on me befall
