Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom 是Nick Jr. 的一套优秀儿童动画节目。
Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom曾在2009年获得英国电影和电视艺术学院年度儿童娱乐领域最佳学龄前动画学院奖。英国电影和电视艺术学院（The British Academy of Film and Television Arts，简称BAFTA）每年颁发学院奖，旨在奖励电影、电视、儿童影视和互动媒体领域的优秀之作。
Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom讲述的是小精灵elves、仙女fairies和昆虫insects的故事。男主人公Ben是个8岁的可爱的小精灵，他的好朋友Holly也是8岁，是个专横又可爱的仙女公主。正如其名，这部动画片主要讲述的就是小精灵Ben和小仙女Holly这两个朋友之间的日常生活场景。Holly是个小仙女，手持魔法棒，会变魔法。不过，她的魔法非常一般，经常失灵，想变的东西出不来，不想变的倒出来了，非常有意思。Ben是个小精灵，他没有Holly的魔法，不过他有的是聪明才智，许多Holly解决不了的问题，基本都是Ben用他的小脑袋想出来的。故事中除了Ben和Holy，出台最多的要算Little Kingdom里面的“国王King”，他是Holly, Daisy, and Poppy的爸爸；还有“王后Queen”，她是Holly, Daisy, and Poppy的妈妈。还有Ben Elf的父母Mr Elf and Mrs Elf.

对于看过Peppa Pig的小朋友，接触到Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom，会有似曾相识的感觉。因为里面的配音演员，大都是同一班人马。Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom的制作公司是伦敦的 Astley Baker Davies, 就是制作Peppa Pig的那个公司。Astley Baker Davies制作的还有一部动画，是Big Knights。

Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom (called Little Kingdom in the US on Nick Junior) is a
British animated pre-school children's television series set in an enchanted magical
kingdom with fairies, elves and insects.
Ben is a loveable little elf while his best friend Holly is a bossy but loveable fairy princess.
The show is created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, and produced by Phil Davies at Astley Baker Davies - the company responsible for Peppa Pig. Many of the actors who lend their vocal skills to characters in Peppa Pig also work on Little Kingdom. These include John Sparkes, Sarah Ann Kennedy, David Rintoul and David Graham.
Astley Baker Davies is an animation studio based in London, England, owned by founder-directors Neville Astley, Mark Baker, and Phil Davies. It is the production company behind television series The Big Knights, Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom.

二、 主要角色
下面我们了解一下里面的主要角色（Characters）。
1 Ben Elf:
Ben is an elf and one of the main characters alongside Princess Holly. His parents are Mr
& Mrs Elf. He lives with mummy and daddy. He lives in the Great Elf Tree, number 4. Ben
wears a blue shirt, a blue pair of shorts and blue triangular hat with an oak leaf
sticking out. Ben is a young Elf. He has many friends, and his best friend is princess
Holly. Ben is 8 years old.
2 Princess Holly:
Holly is a fairy and one of the main characters alongside Ben Elf. She lives with mummy,
daddy and little sisters. She likes to use magic despite the risk of things going wrong.
Her best friend is Ben Elf and her parents are King and Queen Thistle. She wears a pink
dress and has small crown. Holly is 8 years old like her best friend Ben.
3.King Thistle:
King Thistle is the King in the Little Kingdom. He is Princess Holly, Daisy, and Poppy's
daddy. He is often hungry and grumpy, finds other elves and fairies annoying and boring,
and sometimes hates having a bath. He wears a brown shirt and has dark yellow crown.
4.Queen Thistle:
Queen Thistle is the Queen in the Little Kingdom and the wife of King Thistle. She is
Princess Holly, Daisy, and Poppy's mummy. Queen Thistle does not appear as often as
Holly, but she is very responsible and she is not angry most of the time. She wears a
torquise dress and has a shiny crown.
5. Daisy and Poppy:
Holly's cheeky, baby twin sisters. They're not very good at magic but that doesn't stop
them from trying! They are quite cheeky and usually end up causing trouble with magic.
Daisy wears a yellow dress while Poppy wears a red dress. As Daisy and poppy are very
naughty, Holly sometimes dislike her sisters.
Daisy and Poppy are voiced by Zoe Baker.

6.Nanny Plum:
Nanny Plum is Holly, Daisy and Poppy's nanny and 'teacher', and a general housekeeper for
the King and Queen. She is very good at magic and capable of speaking many animal
languages (inluding ones which she claims to be a bit difficult such as Mole, Aardvark,
Ant, Centipede and Alien). She often ends up into all kinds of trouble which she was
trying to prevent Holly and friends from getting into. She is also a tooth fairy. She
wears a purple dress and has black hair. Although being quite bossy, she is very good at
cleaning with magic. She rivals the Wise Old Elf.
Nanny Plum is voiced by Sarah Ann Kennedy.
7. Wise Old Elf:
An elf that lives in the same tree as Ben at the top in room 98. He also is the Wise Old
Tailor and librarian. He also runs the Elf School and The Elf factory. His hat contains a
maple leaf. He rivals Nanny Plum and strongly disapproves of magic. Sometimes he dislikes
fairies and only agrees in elf work and doings.
The Wise Old Elf is voiced by David Graham.
8. Mr Elf:
Mr Elf is Ben Elf's dad. His job is to deliver items to various places such as food to
the castle as well as working for the elf farm. Mrs Elf complains he always works too
hard. He likes all fairies. He is often grumpy.
Mr Elf is voiced by John Sparkes.
9. Mrs Elf:
Mrs Elf is Ben Elf's mum. She has a lily leaf and a flower in her hat.
Mrs Elf is voiced by Judy Flynn.

The team visits the elf farm to collect an egg for King Thistles breakfast, but while they're in there, an enormous chicken escapes and runs.

 'Daisy and Poppy'
Holly's sisters borrow Fleur's magic wand, escape from the castle and turn the whole kingdom into rabbits, frogs and birds.

 'Queen Thistle's Teapot'
Holly accidentally breaks her mother's new teapot, and Ben tries to help her repair it.

 'The Frog Prince'
Holly accidentally turns Ben into a frog, and makes things worse as she tries to rectify her mistake.

Holly's father struggles to cope during a busy day, in which he has to launch a boat, judge a fruit and vegetable competition and make a speech at a dance festival.

Ben and Holly play games whilst waiting for some cupcakes to be made.

Holly's father gets a cold, so Holly and her friend Ben and general housekeeper Nanny Plum collect the ingredients for a magic potion to make him better.

The friends try to reunite a chick with its mother.

Ben is in training for the elf games. Holly wants to join in but the rules state there's no flying or magic allowed.

 'Nanny Plum's Lesson'
Nanny Plum teaches the girls some important fairy rules. However, when she is accidentally blown away by a strong wind, Ben, Holly, Violet, Strawberry and Gaston must come to her rescue.

 'The Elf Factory (Volume 2)'
It's almost Christmas and the elves are busy making toys. When there is a problem with the toys, a little bit of magic is needed to save the day.
