A boy invited a girl to have coffee with him at a party. He
was too nervous to say anything, and she felt
uncomfortable.
Suddenly he asked the waiter:“Would you please give me some
salt? Id like to put it in my coffee.”
She asked him curiously:“Why do you have this
hobby?”
He replied:“Every time I have the salty coffee, I always
think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so
much, I miss my parents who are still living there.”
While saying that, tears filled his eyes. She was deeply
touched. Then she also started to speak, spoke about her faraway
hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk,
also a beautiful beginning of their story.
They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man
who met all her demands; he had tolerance, was kindhearted, warm,
careful. Then they got married and were living the happy
life...And, every time she made coffee for him, she put some salt
in the coffee, as she knew thats the way he liked it.
After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which
said:“My dearest, please forgive me, forgive my whole life lie.
This was the only lie I said to you—the salty coffee.
“I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I
was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for
anything. Now Im dying, Im afraid of nothing so I tell you the
truth:I dont like the salty coffee, what a strange bad taste. But
I have had the salty coffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I
never feel sorry for anything I do for you. Having you with me is
my biggest happiness for my whole life. If I can live for a second
time, I still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even
though I have to drink the salty coffee again.”
Her tears made the letter totally wet.
Some day, someone asked her:“Whats the taste of salty
coffee?” “Its sweet.” She replied.
The magic of love works in the loving pairs. Both parts are
always ready to sacrifice for the others sake. Though probably
such a sacrifice will cause bitterness to the contributing one, he
or she feels sweet.
一个聚会上，有个男孩邀请一个女孩跟他一起喝咖啡。他太紧张了，一句话也说不出来，这让她感觉很不舒服。
突然，他问服务员：“请给我一些盐，好吗？我想把它放进我的咖啡里。”
她很好奇，便问道：“你怎么会有这样一个爱好？”
他回答说：“我每次喝咸味咖啡时，总会想起我的童年，想起我的故乡，我太思念故乡了，那里住着我的父母亲，我非常想念他们。”
他说这些话时，不禁热泪盈眶。女孩被深深地感动了。然后，她开始开口，讲述她那遥远的故乡，她的童年和家庭。这真是一场美妙的谈话，从此一个美丽的爱情故事开始了。
他们继续约会。女孩发现，事实上，男孩符合她所有的要求，他宽容、善良、热情、细心。然后，他们就结婚了，过着幸福的生活……她每次为他煮咖啡，都要在咖啡里放些盐，因为她知道他喜欢那样。
四十年后，他离开了人世，给她留下了一封信。信上说：“我最亲爱的，请原谅我，原谅我一生的谎言。这是我对你说的唯一的一个谎言——咸味咖啡。”
“在我有生之年，有多少次我试图将真相告诉你，但是我太担心了，就没那样做，因为我向你发过誓绝不对你撒谎。我现在奄奄一息，已经不再有什么顾忌，所以我就把真相告诉你吧：我不喜欢咸味咖啡，它的味道是那么奇怪。但是我却喝了一生的咸味咖啡!自从结识你以来，我就从没有对我为你做过的事情遗憾过。有你在我身边是我一生最大的幸福。假若我有第二次生命，我仍然想认识你，一生拥有你，即使我还要喝咸味咖啡。”
她的眼泪浸透了信纸。
有一天，有人问她：“放了盐的咖啡什么味道？”“甜甜的。”她回答。
情侣之间有一种爱的魔力。两人总会为彼此做出牺牲。尽管这样的牺牲会给付出的一方带来一些痛苦，但他/她仍然感觉甜蜜。
