备注:这是英国教育部为留学该国的外国学生准备的测试卷。该卷旨在考察外国学生掌握英语的水平,以便为他们以后读哪个层次的预科班做出正确的选择。我花了大约90分钟的时间,将它一字一字地打出来,因为这是一份很好的试卷。
中国的高考卷更注重学生阅读理解能力的检测,对语言基础知识的考察只占约一半的比例。但是这份试卷考查的内容却详尽广泛真实,100道考题几乎涵盖了英语所有的基础知识。学生如果不懂某点知识,是绝对蒙混不了的。它能一针见血地告诉我们是哪点知识没掌握,没掌握到哪个层次。看似全部是基础的东西,中国高三学生能考到70分的,就算不错了的。
这就给我们一个思考的话题:为何中国孩子花6年甚至8年的时间,却没有真正掌握英语的基本用法?我们应该怎样教才能自己又省力,孩子学习效果又好。
第一是要让孩子自己对这门语言有所感悟,有所激动,有所参与,有所思考。毕竟这是一门语言,没有大量的时间投入就没有完整的理念。
第二是从最本源的东西直接教起。不讲花哨,不搞噱头,不走弯路,实实在在,扎扎实实,循序渐进,往复循环。
第三是家长要有细水长流,铁棒磨成针的毅力。孩子的成功需要你的参与。检测一门你们也不懂的语言真是难为你们了。但是你要相信,我好比是赶车的人,你们就是推车的人。我们要齐心协力,我们的孩子就会事半功倍,他们的英语水平就会飞速前行,达到高三学生不能企及的境地。
