(Desperate Housewives)
[When the police takes her
baby, Gabby tries to grab
it back.]This is our baby!
No! We’ve been, we've been
feeding her and we’ve been
bathing her. And we wake
up in the middle of the
night and we rock her!
Which is crazy, ’cause if
you knew me I don’t do
that! I don’t do that.
And my husband, my husband,
he sings to her. He
sings! So, you can’t take
her away! It’s too late,
we’ve already fallen in love
with her!
Listen to me, I forbid you
to die. If you leave me,
with the mortgage, five
children, the restaurant to me,
I swear to God that I
will track you to the
deepest pit of the hell
to make you pay, do you
hear me!
If you're willing to break up
over an ice sculpture, you
guys should absolutely not get
married. Because who gets to
choose the ice sculpture; who
should take out the trash;
who has to stay home and
make the mini pizzas… that's
the little stuff. What are
you gonna do when the big
stuff comes along? What are
you gonna do when a
tornado hits your house, or
you have problems with your
kids, or one of you gets
cancer? At some point, the
crap is going to hit the
fan. And that is why now,
before you make the commitment,
you have to ask yourself:
Is that person in bed
next to you worth the
trouble? Do you love him
or her so much that no
disease, no disaster could
possibly pull you apart?
You know, the opposite of love
isn't hate. It's indifference.
And if you hate me that
means you still care, and
we're still connected, and I
still have a chance to
set you right.
Bree: When I was young, my
stepmother told me that I
was very lucky. I possessed
beauty, wit, cunning and
insight. These four weapons all
women needed to survive in
the world.
Danielle: So?
Bree: So take good care of
your looks, Danielle. You don't
have any other weapons at
your disposal.
Karl: The heart wants what it
wants!
Susan: Yeah, well, my heart
wants to hurt you, but
I'm able to control myself!
As I look back to the
world I left behind, it
is all so clear to me.
The beauty waits to be
unveiled, the mysteries longs to
be uncovered. But people so
rarely stop to take a
look. They just keep moving.
It is a shame really.
There are so much to see.
The search for power begins when
we were quite young. As
children we’re talked that the
power of the good triumphs
over the power of the
evil. But as we grow
older, we realize that nothing
is ever that simple. Traces
of evil always remain.
Competition, it means different things
to different people. But whether
to friendly rivalry or fight
to the death, the end of
the result is the same.
There will be winners and
there will be losers. Of
course the chief key is
to know which battles to
fight. You see, no victory
comes without price.
Trust is a fragile thing. Once
earned, it offered us tremendous
freedom, but once trust is
lost, it can be impossible
to be recovered. Of course
the truth is we never
know who we can trust.
Those we close to could
betray us, the total strangers
could come to our rescue.
In the end, most people
decide to trust only themselves.
It is really the simplest
way… to keep from getting
burnt.
We are all searching for someone
that is special person who
providing us what’s missing in
our lives. Someone who can
offer companionship, or assistance
or security. And sometimes if
you search very hard we
can find someone provides us
with all three. Yes, we
are all searching for someone
and if we can’t find
them, we can only pray
they find us.
Death is unavoidable. It is a
promise made to each of
us it birth. But before
the promise is caped we
all hope something will happen
to us. Whether it is the
through of the romantic, the
joy of raising a family,
or the anguish of a great
lost. We all hope to
experience something that make
our lives meaningful, but the
sad fact is not all lives
have meaning. Some people spend
their time on this planet
just sitting on the side
lines, waiting for something to
happen to them before it
is too late.
Sooner or later the time comes
when we all must become
responsible adults. And learn to
give up what we want so
we can choose to do what
is right. Of course a
life time of responsibility
isn’t always easy. And as
the years go on, it is
a burden that can become
too heavy for some to
bare. But still we try to
do what is best, what is
good, not only for ourselves,
but for those we love.
Yes, sooner or later, we
must all become responsible
adults. No one knows this
better than the young.
It is impossible to grasp just
how powerful love is. It
can sustain us through trialing
time, or motivate us to
make extraordinary sacrifices. It
can force decent men to
commit the darkest deeds, or
compel ordinary women to search
for hidden truth. And long
after we gone, love remains,
burn into our memories. We
all search for love but
some of us, after we
found it, wish we hadn’t.
“As of this moment, Rex, I
am no longer your wife. I
am going to find the most
vindictive lawyer I can find.
And together, we will eviscerate
you. I will take away
your money, your family, and
your dignity. And I am
thrilled you still love me.
Because I want what’s going
to happen to you to hurt
as much as humanly possible.
I’m just so glad you
didn’t die before I told
you that.”
