Reading Material: Can we take the heat?
Teaching objectives: The students will be able to
Practice using reporting verbs, e,g. warn, tell, order,suggest.
Practice using vocabulary related to global warming;
Know how to make small changes to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide.
一. The Basic theory of teaching
改变以教师说教为基础的教学模式,处处为学生的学习动机来设置课堂模式,教学内容应以学生的学习接受能力为中心,精心设计一些即富有挑战,有带有趣味性的问题,练习,让学生对主题产生兴趣,又能解决一些富有挑战而有不是特别难的问题,这样才能让课堂既充满生机,不乏味,又能让学生有所收获。

1. The content
本课是根据北师大版教材第八模块第22单元的lesson1阅读课。该课课题为Global Warming,其中的副标题为Can We Take the Heat涵盖全球变暖的的定义,原因,结果以及控制措施。

2. Students features
我们的教学对象虽然是高二的学生,但是他们大多数都是来自农村,英语基础差,先前的教学手段大多都是依靠老师一张嘴,和唯一的教科书,对于教材的背景只是知之甚少,所以在准备学习这节课之前,给予了几篇中文新闻报道.

3. Teaching Strategies
本课主要采取自主学习策略。引导学生在任务驱动型的模式下根据自己所接受的信息不断思考,并且提炼出信息背后的真正含义。其次针对课文内容设置一系列问题,引导学生筛选相关信息解决问题,从而对文章的整体结构有一定的认识。

三. Teaching Aims

1) 任务型阅读,在有限的40分钟课堂里,完成既定的教学任务
2) 学会小组讨论,从中获益。
2. Procedures and Approaches
通过读和说的过程让学生体验自主学习和合作学习的方法

1)了解严峻的环境现状和自我责任
2) 保护环境,从我做起,刻不容缓。
