今年的艾美奖结果精彩纷呈，预料之中的喜剧类奖项、竞争激烈的故事剧类奖项，已经被一部作品横扫的迷你剧类奖项，让本届艾美充满看点。
《副总统》击溃《摩登家庭》六连冠美梦
喜剧类颁奖中最大亮点无疑是《副总统》，获得最佳
喜剧让《摩登家庭》六连冠梦碎，
这是本剧连续第四年获得最佳喜剧提名，副总统本届艾美奖获得9项提名，并夺得包括最佳女主、最佳男配、编剧、最佳喜剧在内4项艾美奖。
《副总统》的朱莉娅·路易斯·德利法斯，毫无悬念地击败其它竞争对手，第四次蝉联艾美奖喜剧类最佳女主角，这是她的第6座艾美奖和第20次艾美提名
。
在获得7次艾美奖提名之后，来自透明人生的男主角杰弗里·塔伯(Jeffrey
Tambor)终于首次获奖，而且是拿下喜剧类最佳男主角。
喜剧类最佳女配角则有《老妈》的阿丽森·詹尼则再度蝉联该奖项。
神剧《权力的游戏》终于
得到肯定
神一般的《权力的游戏》无疑是本集剧集类奖项的大赢家，但从没拿过最佳剧集，今年艾美奖评委会终于给了他们肯定。此前它还获得了最佳编剧、最佳导演，最佳男配角。《权力的游戏》今年总共获得24项艾美奖提名，并在艾美奖上累计获得超过83项提名。来自权力的游戏的小恶魔扮演者彼特·丁拉基,获得剧集类最佳男配角，这已经是他连续第五年获得该奖项提名，第二次获奖。这也是权力的游戏今晚获得的第3座艾美奖。
主演《广告狂人》的乔·哈姆更是自开播后，提名6次最佳男主角，但每次都悲剧陪跑，如今他终于如愿以偿，在剧集的最后一季获得了艾美奖影帝。而且，今年拿奖后他是爬上领奖台的，而且还自嘲道：“肯定是你们搞错了，我不可能拿奖啊。”

Davis击败来自嘻哈帝国、国土安全、纸牌屋、黑色孤儿等一系列竞争对手，获得剧集类最佳女主角。她非常激动提到“阻止黑人女星登上领奖台就是机会，她非常骄傲包括丑闻、Emprie出现了一系列家喻户晓黑人女主”。
《奥利芙·基特里奇》统治迷你剧/电视电影类
毫无疑问《微不足道的生活Olive
Kitteridge》成为迷你剧类的最大赢家，它在本届艾美奖获得13项提名，并获得6座艾美奖。
本剧根据2009年普利策奖获奖小说改编。缅因州小镇中学数学女教师奥丽芙·基特里奇为主人公，描写了她周围形形色色的小镇人物。
