observe是高二册第1单元学习的重点词，它既可以作及物动词又可以作不及物动词，是一个使用频率极高的单词，它不仅含义多，而且是高考的考点。为了使同学们更好地掌握observe的用法，现将其主要用法归纳如下：
一、作及物动词用
1.
表示“观察”，后面接名词或代词。
We
often observe the behavior of birds.
我们经常观察鸟类的行为。
I
observed him closely as I worked together with
him.在和他一起工作时，我仔细地观察了他。
2.

表示“遵守”，后面接名词。
Anyone who comes here must observe the
rules. 来这儿的任何人都必须遵守规定。
We
should observe the local
custom.我们应当遵守当地习俗。
3.
表示“庆祝（节日等）”，后面接名词。
With a joyful heart we observed our National

4.
表示“遵循”，后面接名词。
People still observe the old traditions

表示“注意到”、“看到”，后面接名词、代词、that-clause、what-clause和how-clause。

表示“庆祝（节日等）”、“注意到”、“看到”，可用于被动结构。

The man was observed to enter the
company.有人注意到那个人进了那家公司。
8.
表示“注意到”、“看到”，后面接复合宾语，其中用动词不定式和V-ing形式作宾语补足语，但动词不定式作宾语补足语时，要省略动词不定式符号to，强调动作发生的全过程V-ing形式作宾语补足时，强调动作正在进行。

lock. 王先生看到有个人正在设法撬锁。

表示“说”、“评论”，后面接that-clause。

now.现在那个警察正在监视一个可疑的人。

二、作及物动词用

2.
表示“评论”、“说”，后面与介词on搭配使用。
Miss Wang refused to observe on the
situation. 王老师拒绝就形势发表评论。
He
