第五十一章 玄德
诗曰
Poems said
大道生之道德蓄，万物化形势长成。
万物尊道而贵德，道尊德贵自然命。
使它成长而发育，给它平安与安祥，
对它抚爱与保护，万物之主不自专。
创造养育不强占。无所不为不自恃。
这可真是真玄德，万物之主不独裁。
Avenue of moral storage, all materialized situation.
All things honor the Tao and your virtue, tao Honor your natural fate.
Make it grow and develop, give it peace and security,
To caress and protect it, the Lord of all things is not exclusive.
Creation nurturing does not take over. Don't be arrogant.
This is really really xuande, the Lord of all things is not dictatorial.
原文
The original
(1) Tao is born, Virtue is stored, things are shaped and potential is formed.
(2) All things respect the way and your virtue.
(3) The honor of the road, the expensive, husband mo's life and often natural.
译文
The translation
(1) All things are born from Tao, and there is kindness to cultivate, cultivate into the shape of things, and grow with power.
（2）Therefore, all things do not fear the road, do not cherish kindness.
(3) The honourable way and the precious virtue of the road, is that it is not emotional, not capricious, but natural, eternal.
(4) Therefore, the Tao gives birth to all things, nurtures them with kindness, makes them grow and develop, gives them peace and stability, caresses and protects them. Yet he creates and nurturs in this way but does not force possession, he does everything but does not rely on his own credit, he is the Lord of all things but does not arbitrary control, this is really unfathomable kindness!
第五十二章 道恒
Chapter 52 Dao Heng
诗曰
Poems said
天下有始天下母，既得其母知其子。
既知其子守其母，纵然身消命千古。
塞其感官闭其户。你就终身无劳苦。
见小曰明守柔强，复归其明用其光。
永不会留身后殃，
The world began with the world mother, since the mother knows her son.
Knowing that his son shall keep his mother, though he perish for ever.
Shut up his senses and shut his door. You will never have to work hard.
Open your senses to all things, and you will never be saved.
See small yue shou soft strong, return to its Ming with its light.
Will never leave behind, eternal life is always.

（1）天下有始，以为天下母。（2）既得其母，以知其子。（3）既知其子，复守其母，没身不殆。（4）塞其兑，闭其门，终身不勤。开其兑，济其事，终身不救。（5）见小曰明，守柔曰强。（6）用其光，复归其明，无遗身殃，是为袭常。

The translation
（1）世界有一个开始，那开始的，就是世界的母亲。（2）既晓得有一位母亲，就知道我们是儿子。（3）既知道我们是儿子，就应当回归守候母亲。若能这样，纵然身体消失，依旧安然无恙。（4）塞住通达的感官，关闭认识的门户，你就终身不会有劳苦愁烦。敞开你的通达感官，极尽你的聪明能事，你便终生不能得救了。（5）能见著精微才叫明亮，能持守柔顺才叫强壮。（6）藉著大道洒下的光亮，复归其光明之中，就不会留下身后的祸殃了。这就是承袭永恒、得著永生的意思。
(1) The world has a beginning, that beginning, is the mother of the world.
（2）And knowing that we have a mother, we know that we are sons.
(3) Knowing that we are sons, we should return and wait for our mothers. If you can do that, even if your body disappears, you will remain safe and sound.
（4）Shut up your senses and the doors of knowledge, and you will never have trouble or sorrow. Open thy understanding and senses, and use all thy understanding and power, and thou shalt not be saved all thy life.
（5）Can see the subtle is bright, can hold the meekness is strong.
（6）By the light shed by the road, return to its light, and there will be no evil left behind. This is what it means to inherit eternity and have eternal life.
