主动一致(subject-verb
concord)的叫法好过主谓一致,因为主语与谓语之间可能没有动词形式的牵制,但主语与动词之间肯定有动词形式的牵制问题值得研究。
（一）语法一致 （grammatical concord）
Both boys have their own merits. 两个孩子都有各自的优点。
Many people want to go. 许多人想去。
Each boy has his own book. 每个孩子都有自己的课本。
Either answer is correct. 两个答案中任何一个都是对的。
Two girls were standing on the corner.
两个女孩子当时是站在拐角处。
Every girl comes on time. 每个女孩子都到得准时。
Much effort is wasted.
不少的努力都白费了。
(二）意义一致 （notional concord
）
The government have asked the
country to decide by a vote.
政府已经提出要求：全民决定的方式是投票。
Fifteen miles seems
like a long walk to me.
十五英里似乎是有很远的路要走，有这种想法的是我。
Fifty-six dollas was
stolen from the cash register
五十六美金被盗，位置就在这现金出纳机。
（三）就近原则 （proximity）
Either my brothers or my
father is coming. 不是我兄弟就是我父亲会来。
Only one out of five were present.
只有五分之一会在场。
No one except his own supporters agree
with him.
没有一个，如果不算他的支持者，会同意他的观点。
Neither Julia nor I am
going. 朱莉娅和我都不去。
