从属分句通常带有从属连词。
按照结构形式，从属连词分为简单从属连词 (simple subordinator) 复杂从属连词 (complex subordinator) 、关联从属连词 (correative subordinator) 和边际从属连词 (marginal subordinator) 。
1) 简单从属连词
简单从属连词即单词从属连词 (one-word subordinator), after, although, as, because, before, directly,
for, if, immediately, lest, like, once, since, that, though, till, unless, until, whatever, when(ever), where(ver), whereupon, whichever, while, whilst 等。例如：
I went home directly(= as soon as) I had finished work.
我回家是在完成作业时。
Until she spoke, I hadn't realized she was a foreigner.
直到她开口说话，我才意识到她是个外国人。
Once you understand this rule, you'll have no further difficulty.
一旦你明白了这条规则，你就不会再有什么困难了。
You can stay to dinner if you like.
你可以留下来吃晚饭,如果你愿意。
