高中英语“书面表达”题中常常出现“高一/高二/高三学生”这样的字眼，参考范文中几乎千篇一律地译作Senior

student。这是地道的Chinglish，以英语为母语的人不知道你说的是几年级学生。
在美国，从小学到高三共12年，从 grade on
e 一直到 grade 12。因此，小学一年级学生叫做 first
grader (或 first-grader)，初中一年级学生叫做 seventh grader (或
seventh-grader)，高中一年级学生叫做 tenth grader (或
tenth-grader)。照此规律，“高三学生”应该是，事实上也是，12th grader。另外，“高三学生”也可以叫做
senior。Senior 在大学里指“大四学生”。请看释义：senior

Senior High School 指“高级中学”。“初级中学”叫 Junior High School。
人民教育出版社的《高中英语》教材的英语名称 New Senior English for China 似乎不妥。什么叫senior
English? 应该叫 English for Senior High School 才对。
中国的英语老师连“几年级学生”的英语都不会说真是太羞耻了！
