25 the first time, for the first time的用法

for the first time（“第一次”，与“从未”对立）, 是一个表时间的介词短语，在句子中做时间状语，常用于完成时。如:
I've been here for the first time.我是第一次来这里。
the first time （“第一次”，与“第二次、第三次......”对立）,相当于一个从属连词,常用于过去式或现在时。根据上下文具体情况，可以用as soon as/when来解释。如：

I loved this picture the first time I saw it.我第一次到这幅画就喜欢上它了。
例：The man's behaviour gave him a good impression _____ she saw him.

答案是：A 这道题中很显然后面是一个完整的句子，因此空上应该填上一个可以作为连词使用的词，这个词组在句中可以起到连接词的作用，引导一个时间状语从句。译：当第一次她遇见他的时候，这个男人的行为举止给她留下了很好的印象。
看下面的两个例句：
He was a school teacher the first time I saw him.
当我第一次见到他的时候，那时他是一名学校的老师。
I met him for the first time.
我第一次见到了他。
此外，在考核the first time时，还要经常考核它的另外的句式结构：
It is the first time +从句（从句中通常使用现在完成时态）
It was the first time +从句（从句中通常使用过去完成时态）
It is the first time he has been in China.
It was the first time he had been in China.
