Good morning, Ladies and gentlemen!
I'm Cao Zhongyun from Class 3, Grade 6. Today, it's my honor to be here to give the first speech for our club --- Mingtong Primary School English Club.
As the deepening of globalization, English is increasingly important, it is the most widely used in the world, and it is the most spoken official language around the world. For one thing, English is an essential tool to know the outside world. For another, we can see a totally different world and get the advanced information. In short, as a communicating tool, English plays a v
ery important role in our lives.
Last summer, I traveled to Switzerland. While we were waiting to climb the Alps, a hat from a foreign old lady fell off. I helped her to picked it up. I talked with her happily in fluent English. She was so shocked when she knew I am Chinese. She told me she had ever been to the Great Wall in Beijing and Terra - Cotta Warriors in Xi'an. She thought China is a colorful and wonderful country. She said that she was excited to meet such an excellent Chinese girl in Switzerland. At that moment, I felt so proud that I am Chinese.
As we know, English has become more and more inportant language of international meeting, trade, transport, science and technology, especially in internationally communication and cooperative area.
Today, I'm so happy because Mingtong Primary School English Club has set up. There are so many teachers and students who love English in our club that can make English interesting. We'll have a lot of fun by watching English movies, singing English songs, performing the play like 'the Snow White', also we can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the world. Come to our club and improve your English. Remember: our slogan is 'Everything is possible' !
We are a group of kids who have dreams and ambitions. I believe if we try hard ,we'll achieve our dream!
Here are five books I wrote named 'The rain'. I'll give them away to five students who are the youngest in our club. This book collects my published and awarded articles and my experience of traveling in many countries and regions. Some of them were translated into English.
Let's enjoy the beauty of the world, let's share and feel the happiness English bring us. Let's tell our slogan loudly --- 'Everything is possible'.
