Chinese grammar--The difference between 刚and 才

【副词】表示事情发生在不久以前。
Indicating things happened not long ago.

（一）“才”有强调意味，强调事情的发生离说话时很近，一般重读；“刚”没有强调意味，只表示事情的发生离说话时很近。试比较：
“才”is sued for emphasizing that the occurrence of the matter is close to the time of speaking. Generally stress is laid on “才”. “
刚” is not used for emphasis, but indicating the occurrence of the matter is quite close to the time speaking. Compare:
会议才结束。
会议刚结束。
我才从国外回来不久。
我刚从国外回来不久。
她身体才恢复，不能太劳累。
她身体刚恢复，不能太劳累。

（二）“刚”和“才”都可以与“就”搭配使用，表示一件事情紧挨着另一件事情发生。用“刚”事，侧重于在时间上紧接着发生；用“才”时，侧重于两件事情紧凑地相继发生。试比较：
Both “刚” and “才” can be used together with “就”, indicating one matter occurs keeping in step with another matter’s occurrence. When “刚” is used, it emphasizes on the things’ occurrence followed closely in the aspect of time. When “才” is used, it emphasizes the two things’ close occurrence in succession. Compare:
刚买来一辆新车子，就给弄丢了。
才买来一辆新车子，就给弄丢了。
他刚回来就下车间去了。
他才回来就下车间去了。
我刚把屋子收拾干净，你们就给弄脏了。
我才把屋子收拾干净，你们就给弄脏了。
你的病刚好怎么就去上班了。
你的病才好怎么就去上班了。
