翻译的形容词与副词的互相转译方法

很显然，当英语名词译成之又语动词时，修饰该名词的形容词一般可以译为汉语的副词;英语动词译成汉语名词时，修饰该动词的副词一般可以译成汉语的形容词。除此，也有一些其他情况，要视译文的需要而定。例如:
It was a clear and unemotional exposition of the President's
reasons for willing to begin a Chinese一American dialogue.
这篇发言清楚明白、心平气和地说明了总统希望开始中美对话的卫系因。
I have vtisited China three times，in I972.，1976 axed 1979.In China，as the leaders hsve changed，so also the policies...whether temporarily or permanently remains to be seen.
我曾于1972年、1976年和1979年三次访问中国。在中国，领导人变更了，政策也变更了......这种变更是暂时性的还是永久性的还要看一看。
Lin zexu
believed that a successful ban of the opium trademust be preceded by the destruction of the drug itself.
林则徐认为，要成功地禁止鸦片交易。就得首先焚毁鸦片。
In his speech he laid special stress on raising the living stund-and of the people.
他在讲话中特别强调提高人民的生活水平。

他们很地回答了我的咨询。
·The village has changed greatly since we last visitad it.
这个村庄自从我们上次访问以来发生了巨大的变化。
·He spent seven days in the wind and snow，cold and hungry‘
他又冷又饿地在风雪中度过了七天。
·In nrdee to make better use of the materials people have stud-
ied their properties.
人们研究这些资料的特征是为了更好地利用它们。
(五)名词与副词的互相转译
，The new mayor earned some appreciation by the courtesy of
corning to visit the city.
新市长有礼貌地前来访问城市贫民，获得他们的一些
好感。
He had the honor to meet the U. S. President.
他荣幸地见到了美国总统。
·They have not done so well ideologically，however,as orangani
zationally.
但是，他们的思想工作没有他们的组织工作做得好。
·He is physically weak but mentally sound.
他身体虽弱，但思想健康。
