<The Pianist> is a film that can be comparable to <Schindler's List>. You can see the glory of human nature from the film. The leading role the pianist Szpilman got helps from many people when he was fleeing towards freedom. From all those kind people we saw humanity although some persons’ deeds were disgraceful. For example, the first person who saved Szpilman’s life was a Jewish traitor serving for Nazi. Another thing we can see is the desire to survive. Szpilman was able to evade many difficulties to stick to the end, there must be hope and faith in his heart, I think he is always convinced that justice can prevail over the evil and the victory will come soon. We may ignore another role in the movie because he only appeared for a moment in the film. The German officer who was the last person to assists the pianist. Although he is not the main character, but is the key figure of the film. This is a good movie because it is fair and resp
ect for history, it did not deliberately vilify or glorify any side of the war. It did not deny all the German soldiers because of the evil of Nazi nor praise all the Jewish Poles. If you read the book “the pianist” written by the pianist Szpilman and the German officer’s diary, we would know that there are more things did not mentioned in the movie. The German officer Hosenfeld has the same fate with Schindler and Rabe. They took the positive action to help the innocent people that they came into contact with but had a tragic ending themselves. They hate wars, but in time of war, the fate of the individual and the will is helpless.
