英语中表示“某事值得做”与“做某事值得”有几个特定的句式，值得我们学习中注
意。这几个特定句式涉及到形容词 worth、worthy 和 worthwhile。

表示“某事值得做”时，可以用 worth 或 worthy 表达，句式如下：
● worth
△ worth + 名词

1）The matter is worth further discussion.
这件事值得进一步商讨。
2）We thought that the book was worth publication.
我们认为这本书是值得出版。
3）This is a very old town.I think it is worth a visit.
这是一个古镇，他认为它值得一游。（代词it作主语）
4）What is happening here today is worth notice.
今天在这里发生的事值得关注。 (主语是名词从句)
5）I noticed that the accommodation was well worth what was charged for it.
我注意到这里的住宿还是价有所值的。（worth 后接名词从句）


△ worth + -ing （动名词用主动形式，表示被动意义。）

1）The problem is worth discussing again.
这些问题值得再讨论一次。
2）The film isn ' t worth seeing.
这部电影不值得一看。
3）The decision is worth studying a little further.
这一决定值得进一步研究。
4）Mr. Green wrote down everything that is worth remembering.
格林先生把值得记住的东西全都写了下来。

△ worthy of + 名词

1）This phenomenon is worthy of further discussion.
这种现象值得进一步研究。
2）The suggestion he put forward is worthy of consideration.
他提出的建议值得考虑。
3）Two points in this report are especially worthy of notice.
这篇报告中有两点尤其值得注意。
4）Life, to be worthy of a rational being, must be always in progression.
人生必须永远前进，才不愧为有理智的人。
5）You are not worthy of the love which I have devoted to you.
你配不上我献给你的爱情。
6）They regard the problem as not worthy of serious consideration.
对这一问题他们都认为不屑一顾。

△ worthy of + 动名词 （需根据意义用主动与被动语态）

1）This phenomenon is worthy of being discussed. （被动语态）
这种现象值得进一步研究。
2）The suggestion he put forward is worthy of being considered.（被动语态）
他提出的建议值得考虑。
3）The machine is not worthy of being repaired. （被动语态）
这机器不值得修了。
4）These doctors and nurses are worthy of being respected. （被动语态）
这些医生和护士值得人们尊敬。

5）She said she was not worthy of accepting the honour they had offered
her. （主动语态）
她说她不配接受他们给予的赞赏。
6）He is worthy of filling the post. （主动语态）
这个职位他当之无愧。

△ worthy + 不定式的被动式 （不可再用介词of）

1）This book is worthy to be read.
这本书值得一读。
2）There occurred nothing that was worthy to be mentioned.
没有值得一提的事发生。
3）The suggestion he put forward is worthy to be considered.
他提出的建议值得考虑。
4）If you'd be loved, be worthy to be loved.
要得到别人的爱，就必须有值得爱的地方。

表示“做某事值得”时，用 worthwhile 表达，句式如下：

● worthwhile 用于表示“做某事值得”，句子主语是“做某事” ，即用动词不定
式或动名词短语作主语；worthwhile 作句子表语。例如“再讨论这个问题是值得
的”，应该说：
To discuss the problem again is worthwhile.
Discussing the problem again is worthwhile

但习惯上常用形式主语it 位于句首，将作主语的动词不定式或动名词短语后移。
It is worthwhile to discuss the problem again.
It is worthwhile discussing the problem again.

△ It is worthwhile + to do sth 或 doing sth.

1）It is quite worthwhile to develop the processing of raw materials on clients'
demand which in fact is a sort of export of labour services with products as
the carriers.
大力发展来料加工非常合算，这其实是以产品作为载体的一种劳务输出。
2）They did not find it worthwhile to prepare for the worst conditions they
might meet.
那时他们没有觉得不值去为可能遇到的最坏情况作准备。
3）The concert is said to be excellent, so it is worthwhile to pay 200 Yuan
for it.

4）In my opinion, it's worthwhile having a try at it.

5）Is it worthwhile getting angry over such a trifling matter?

6）It is worthwhile taking the trouble to explain a job fully to new
employees.

7）It is worth while point out that heating may bring about certain change
in the structure if any material
值得指出的是，加热会使任何物质的结构发生某种变化。
8）It isn't worthwhile spending so much time on minor problems.
在枝节问题上犯不着花这么多时间。
9）I consider it worthwhile trying to summarize our experience in learning
English.
我认为总结一下学习英语的经验是值得一试的。


动词不定式或动名词短语作主语可以带有逻辑主语，有两种表达形式：

△ It is worthwhile + for one to do sth 或one’s doing sth.

1）Do you consider it worthwhile for them to make that experiment ?
你认为他们做这试验值得吗?
2）It is worthwhile for every solar observer to follow these movements of
sunspots
任何一个太阳观测者值得花时间和精力去跟踪观测太阳黑子的这种移动。
3）It is usually not worthwhile for them to make a case of it.
一般说来，他们认为不值得为此提出控告。
4）Is it worthwhile for you, for China, to befriend the Unjted States even if they
do not seem to like you?
在美国好像不太喜欢中国的情况下，您认为中国还值得把美国当成你们的朋友吗?

5）But I think it is worthwhile to go and begin these preliminary conversations.
但我认为开始这些初步对话是值得做出的努力。
6）I don’t think it is worthwhile our paying much attention to the matter in
dispute. It is not so serious as it is.
我认为我们不必过于关注这一有争议的事，它并不是那么严重。

△ It is worth one’s while to do sh. 或 doing sth。

1）It is worth our while to consider this view more attentively.
这样的观点，我们应该更加用心地来考虑。
2）It's worth your while to go seeing the movie, which is really cool.
你去看这部电影值得，它真的很棒。
3）It would be well worth your while to come to the meeting.
来参加这个会议对你来说是很值得的。
4）I think it is worh our while discussing the problem again.
我认为我们再讨论这个问题是值得的。

注：使用 worthwhile 句式时，动词不定式或动名词不带逻辑主语，多见用动名词短
语；带逻辑主语，多见用动词不定式短语。
