顾绣的特点：Characteristics of Gu's
embroidery
摩绣名画，立意高雅：顾绣样本多为博物馆收藏的名家名画，以文人画为主。追随文人画家的创作意境，进行再一次的诠释创作，注重诗、书、画、印的结合。

顾绣劈丝精细，可将一根丝线劈为三十二分之一，甚至更细，针细如毫，绣完了无数针后，细腻平整，以手抚摸甚至没有感觉，

Embroidery has the following distinctions from other genres of
embroidery:
首先，刺绣在传统意义上来说，应该是工艺品，在最初的时候是日常日用品，顾绣作为刺绣领域的最高境界演变为纯观赏性的艺术品。顾绣的作品风格典雅，艺术价值在四百年前就被文人士大夫所认可，董其昌承认她为松江文人画派的一个分支，当时被达官贵人，文人墨客争相收藏而名冠天下，顾绣成为中国古代女性文化的代表。
First, speaking from the traditional significance,
embroidery articles should be artwork even though they were
articles of everyday use from the very beginning. For
Gu’s Embroidery, it has evolved into works of art with pure
ornamental value which is the highest state of embroidery. Works of
Gu Embroidery are elegant in style, and the artistic value is
recognized by scholars and bureaucrats four hundred years ago. Dong
Qichang acknowledged that it was a branch of the school of Song
Jiang scholars’ paintings, which were very famous and were often
collected by high officials and noble lords and men letters.
Particularly, Gu’s Embroidery has become the representative of
ancient Chinese female culture.
再者，顾绣既为画绣，就是可以以书画的标准去审视它，你可以近距离去观赏它的丝理纹路是否符合画理，可以感受到它的晕色过度近乎墨彩，却是以针代笔，以丝为色，不借助任何染料颜色的辅助，在纯色的绢上一针一线绣制完成的，现在的顾绣，进入了纯绣艺的时代，这是现在任何绣种所不能达到的。
Secondly, as the embroidery of paintings,
Gu’s Embroidery should be viewed with the standards for
paintings and calligraphy. You can observe and enjoy it closely and
find out that its lines of the silk work fit the rationale of
paintings and its iridescence’s transition is like grisaille
painting, which is actually obtained with needles and silk threads
instead of brush pens and colors. The present Gu’s Embroidery has
