试析"look out the window"和 "look out of the&n

我发现有以上两种说法出现在孩子的学习过程中。Side by Side朗文国际英语教程BOOK1-05'Right now I’m looking out the window, and it’s raining cats and dogs. ', 新概念英语第二册Lesson2 'I looked out of the window. It was dark outside.' 那么,到底两种说法有什么区别,或是两者意思相同,可以互换?
我们先来看字典中的解释:LONGMAN dictionary of American English中解释如下:(只节选了相对应的部分): 1.from inside something or through something: He was looking out the window at the beach. 2 out of a) from a particular palce or time: I got a Coke out of the refrigerator. A nail was sticking out of the wall.这里第二个意思好像不适合这里。 金山词霸中收录的柯林斯高阶英汉双解学习词典(Collins COBUILD advanced learner's English-Chinese Dictionary)中介词用法解释如下:Out of is used with verbs of movement. Such as 'walk’ and ' pull', and also in phraral verbs such as 'do out of ' and 'grow out of'. In American English and Informal Brithish English, out is often used inste
ad of out of. 3. PREP-PHRASE if you look or shout out of a window, you look or shout away from the room where you are towards the outside: He went on staring out of the window. He looked out the window at the car on the street below.(朝外...看/喊)
显而易见,柯林斯的说法能更好的诠释它们的用法:两种都可以用,一个是介词,一个是介词短语;一个正规些,一个美式英语或英国口语中使用来替代前者。Side by Side 中明显是孩子信中美式口语化的说法,而新概念中是传统英式英语。
