【wake、waken、awake、awaken】的用法及区别

wake:醒来,动词 (wake up)
wake — woke — woken
wake up: 后面可以跟宾语,代词放中间
Examples:
She usually wakes up early in the morning. 她通常一大早就醒了。
Please wake me up at 8 o’clock. 请在八点钟叫醒我。
wake up to: 醒悟到、认识到
Example:
He hasn’t yet woken up to the seriousness of the situation. 他还没有意识到局势的严重性。

wake:航迹、痕迹,名词
Example:
the foaming white wake of the liner 班轮后面溅着白色浪花的尾波。
in the wake of: 随着、紧跟着
Example:
Outbreaks of disease occurred in the wake of the drought. 干旱过后,疾病开始蔓延。

waken: 唤醒、吵醒、弄醒,动词(用法与wake基本相同,但在有直接宾语时用waken
Examples:
I feel as if I had wakened from a nightmare. 我觉得我好像刚从噩梦中醒来。
She wakened the baby with a kiss on his cheek. 她的亲吻唤醒了宝宝。

awake: 唤醒、唤起(回忆、恐惧)、醒悟,动词
awake — awoke — awoken
Examples:
He awoke the sleeping child. 他把那个睡着的孩子弄醒了。
The letter awoke old fears. 那封信又勾起了往日的恐惧。
He awoke to the dangers 他觉察到有危险。

awake: 醒着的、警觉的,形容词(作表语,通常用wide fully 修饰)
Examples:
He has been awake. 他一直醒着。
Are you fully awake to the danger you are in? 你充分意识到自己处所的危险了吗?
wide awake: 十分清醒,警觉

awaken: 唤醒、唤起,动词
Examples:
I was awakened by the noise outside the window. 我被窗外的声音吵醒了。
Her story awakened our interest. 她说的事引起了我们的兴趣。
