that引导的状语从句

that是高中阶段常见的从句连接词,除引导名词性从句和定语从句外,它还能引导各种状语从句。下面就that
引导的状语从句做一总结,以完善同学们的知识结构。
一. 目的状语从句,构成so
that (为了…), 有时so
可以省掉,in order
that(为了...),
such…that
(为了...),
for fear
that(以防...)等。如:
1. Bring it
nearer (so) that
I may see it
better.
把它拿近点,好让我看清楚些。
2. She got up early
(so) that she could catch
the first bus.
为了能赶上第一辆班车,她起了个大早。
3. I will give
up my claim so that /in
order that you may have
the property.
我愿意放弃我的要求,以使你获得那份财产。
二. 结果状语从句,构成so
that(结果...), such
that(结果...)。
如:
1. He is so honest
that he will not tell a
lie.
他这样诚实,不说谎。
2. The weather was
such that I
couldn’t
out.
天气这么坏,我出不去了。
三.
原因状语从句,构成now( that),
in that, not that
… but that,
considering (that),
seeing
that(鉴于)等,或用在主句中表示喜怒哀乐等情感类形容词后面时,表原因,相当于because。如:
1.I’m glad
that(=because) you have come
back..
你回来我很高兴。
2.They’re
disappointed that(=because) you
couldn’t pay them
a visit.
他们感到失望,因为你不能来看望他们。
3. Not that
I’m unwilling to
go with you, but that
I’m busy
now.
不是因为我不愿意跟你一块去,而是因为我没时间。
四.
条件状语从句,构成supposing
that, on condition
that等,表“假设”。如:
1. Supposing that there
is no pure
water,what shall we
drink?
假如没有纯净水 我们喝什么?
2. You can use
the bicycle on
condition that you
return it tomorrow.
只要你明天归还,自行车你可以拿去用。
五.
时间状语从句,用于表时间的词语之后,代替when,可省略。如:
1. We left the day
(that) he arrived.
=we left the day
when he arrived.
他到达的那天,我们离开了。
2. The day that my
father died, I
was on holiday
in Greece.
父亲去世的那天,我在希腊度假。
六.
让步状语从句,用于不加冠词的、表示某种特征的名词后,表“尽管,虽然”,相当于as。如:
1. Newcomer that he
is, he knows
what’s the right
to do.
尽管他是个新手,但他知道该干什么。
2. Fool that
I
was,I
took his word for
it.
虽然我傻,我对他的话信以为真。
七. 方式状语从句,构成the
way that
(…的方式/方法)
结构, that 相当于in
which,
并可以省掉。如:
1. Do it the way
that (that=in which)
you were taught.
要按照教你的那样做。
2. He
doesn’t see
things the way
(that=in which) we see
him.
他不用我们看待他的方式看待事物。
八.
程度状语从句,构成such…that,或such
that。如:
1. It’s
such a good chance that
we mustn’t miss
it.
机会这样好,我们可不能失掉。
2. The weather was
such that I
couldn’t go
out.
天气这么坏,我不出去了。
九.
除外状语从句,构成except
that(除了…), but
that(除了…)等,that
常可省掉。如:
1. Except that he
speaks too fast he is an
excellent teacher.
他是一位优秀教师,可就是说话太快。
2. Nothing would satisfy
that child but that
I place her
on my lap.
那孩子什么都不要,只要我把她抱在膝上。
